The LAAIA's by-laws require that nominations for the upcoming year Board of Directors be held during the May meeting. Nominations will be conducted during our May 7th meeting. Positions to be nominated are: President-Elect, Vice President, Secretary, Treasure, four (4) Directors and the Company Liaison.
A nominating committee including presidents Delfo Delatorre, Nestor Rivero, Martha Valdes-Diaz, Rudy Valdes-Diaz in addition to our current president Gabriela Dominguez will introduce a slate of nominees for those positions. In addition, nominations from the floor will be entertained.
Topic: "Why On Earth Would I Want to Serve on the Board of My Community Association."
 Jamie Schraff of the Distinguished Programs Group will address the risks involved with a person's decision to serve on their community association board of directors, and agents can best help protect them, their families, and their assets through a monoline D&O policy.
Jamie is the Community Association Program Manager for the Distinguished Programs Group, specializing in D&O, Crime and Umbrella for Community Associations and other Habitational Risks. Working with over 700 insurance brokers and agents in all 50 states, Jamie has toured the US speaking at various Community Association continuing education and Community Enhancement events. Originally from Danbury, CT, Jamie joins us today from her new home in Burbank, CA.
